This website

This site is deliberately plain: it loads no fonts, scripts or images from third-party servers, sets no cookies and embeds no analytics or advertising services. No user tracking takes place, and there is accordingly nothing for a cookie banner to consent to.

The effect settings (choice and strength) in the cursor-effect menu (bottom right) are stored as a purely local browser setting in your device’s local storage. This setting never leaves your device — there is no transmission to us or to third parties, and no tracking. The site also stores your language choice (German or English) under the key "bucht-lang" in your browser’s local storage, so that you are not switched again on every visit; a second entry ("bucht-lang-auto") only lasts for the current session. Both stay on your device, are never transmitted, and are not used for any analysis.

Fonts: Libre Caslon Text and Public Sans, embedded locally, SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Hosting

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA). When the site is accessed, Netlify processes technically necessary access data as our processor in server logs — including IP address, time of access, file requested, data volume transferred and browser identifier. This processing is required in order to deliver the page and is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in technically sound and secure operation). This data is not combined with any other source. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Netlify.

Getting in touch

If you contact us by email, we process your details solely to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures or performance of a contract) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in replying). The data is deleted once it is no longer required for this purpose and no retention obligations apply.

Etsy shop

Sales take place exclusively via the platform Etsy (etsy.com/shop/Holzbucht). This website itself does not embed any Etsy content and transmits no data to Etsy — the link above is a plain reference. Once you click that link, you leave this website; the privacy policy of Etsy, Inc. applies exclusively to the processing of your data on Etsy.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). An informal message to info@holzbucht.de is enough.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
